Award-winning copywriter Chris Marlow has been writing copy and helping marketers since the mid-1980s, cutting her teeth on the teachings of copywriting legends Gary Halbert, Herschell Gordon Lewis, and Bob Stone.
Pivotal to her career was eight years as lead copywriter at Portland, Oregon's Rosen/Brown Direct during the 1990s, where she learned agency-level marketing and copywriting, serving clients such as Dell Computer, Toyota, and Disney. It was during this phase of her career that her work earned multiple awards, including two ECHO Awards, the industry's highest award for response generation.
With the glamour of agency life having run its course, Chris launched her second freelance career in 1998. For six years she wrote copy and created controls for many medium-size businesses, and many high profile clients such as Microsoft, IBM, and Intuit. Chris also wrote packages for some of the nation's well-known direct response agencies such as Kern Direct (now The Kern Organization), Creative Direct Marketing Group, and Direct Marketing Solutions.
From magalogs for FC & A Publishing, to 3-dimensionals for Symantec, and full turn-key email marketing for Europe's Systems Union, Chris has worked with nearly every traditional format in nearly every mainstream niche.
In 2004 Chris decided to help other copywriters avoid the career pitfalls she suffered and began a side business as the original Copywriter's CoachThe business took off and she found herself looking for other ways to help copywriters.
This led to the creation of the world's first and most comprehensive benchmark guide for copywriters, Volume I and Volume II of the Freelance Copywriter Fee & Compensation Survey. Other information products followed and Chris found herself deeply immersed in building an Internet marketing business devoted solely to helping copywriters and other service freelancers.
Today as coach and copy chief, Chris writes copy, develops concepts, and strategizes every day for her coaching students and the clients she helps them land, while continuing to build out her industry-leading coaching program based on the MARLOW Marketing Method™.
When not at work, Chris gardens, water paints, and sails the San Diego Bay, among other pursuits. A member of the Baby Boom generation, Chris also works out and spends plenty of time "staying young."

Steve Colich
Creative Director
Steve Colich, a creative director with over 20 years of design experience (the last 12 of which have been devoted direct response) represents one of the most evolved brand/interaction architects in the world. He has a myriad of talents, most of which are not marketable. But for some reason, his neurons were hard-wired from birth to turn creative briefs into pieces that sell... for DM agencies like Rosen, The Kern Organization and Creative Direct Marketing Group, and clients that include IBM, Apple, ADC Kentrox, Mitsubishi, Network Associates, and SGI. Steve's association with Chris Marlow began in 1996 when they were paired as creative duo for a direct mail campaign. These many years later Chris and Steve continue to collaborate on projects.
